Arturo Waner
Spanish Translator and Editor
After graduating from Gertz-Ressler High School, Arturo Waner completed a BA in Spanish and minors in Education and Gender Studies at Dartmouth College.
Currently a high school Spanish teacher, Arturo focuses on adequately serving first-generation, urban, minority students. He employs an interdisciplinary approach to education and draws from neuroscience, cognitive psychology, and pedagogical research to develop evidence-based, socio-economic, and culturally responsive methods and practices in the classroom. He plans to attend graduate school in the future but wants to gain teaching experience to decide whether he will go into policy, research, or stay in the school system. When he has free time Arturo likes to box, read philosophy and science-fiction, and play the guitar. If you are in town you are likely to find him at Tacos Gavilan, the Alameda Swapmeet, or the Rave Cinemas at the Crenshaw Mall. |
