Stephanie Ponce Valladares was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles just south of Vernon, barley west of the 10. In 2013, she graduated at the top of her class from The University of San Francisco with her degree in Politics and minors in Politics and Mandarin Chinese.
Stephanie has a passion for giving back to her community and is currently working at Step Up Women’s Network. She is focusing on helping teen girls in the LA area become confident, college ready and career focused. Aside of helping teen girls fulfill their potential she is also passionate about immigrants’ rights and child welfare.
In 2014, Stephanie was one of the co-founders and previously served as editor. She is currently our editor in chief and has helped shaped the editing values for BSCC.
In her spare time you can find Stephanie eating her way through Los Angeles, skating at the beach or looking for obscure films at Amoeba.
